After the completion of the second and final Test at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, India’s star batsman Virat Kohli gave an autographed jersey to Bangladesh off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Mehidy Hasan finished the game with stats of 6/124 after collecting a five-for in the second innings. The 25-year-old shared a photo of himself and Kohli carrying an autographed shirt on social media after the game. “Special souvenir from one of the greatest cricketers Virat Kohli,” he captioned the image.

India dominated the series 2-0 and won the second Test by a margin of three wickets. India only needed 145 runs to win the game and the series, but after a thrilling morning of play on day four in Dhaka, the visitors prevailed by just three wickets.

Since 2000, India had prevailed in 10 of the sides’ previous 12 Test matches, including five victories by an innings. There had also been two draws, the most recent of which occurred in 2015. India dismissed Bangladesh on Saturday for a middling 231 runs, but Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan, the home team’s spinners, later reduced the visitors to 45-4 at stumps with 100 runs left to chase.

When KL Rahul, the team’s captain, was taken out by Shakib for two, Mehidy grabbed the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, all of whom had single-digit scores. When play began on Sunday, Bangladesh had reduced India to 74-7, but Shreyas Iyer (29 not out) and Ravichandran Ashwin (42 not out) put up 71 runs in a stand-alone eighth-wicket partnership to lead India to victory.
