Wednesday’s previous SA20 match saw Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeat MI Cape Town by two wickets. Grant Roelofsen and Ryan Rickelton each scored 56 and 46 runs as Cape Town reached a total of 171/8 in 20 overs after being given the opportunity to bat first. Ottniel Baartman and Roelof van der Merwe each grabbed two wickets for the Sunrisers, while Aiden Markram, the team captain, and Sisanda Magala each took one wicket. Later, Marco Jansen scored 66 runs in just 27 balls to help Sunrisers win by two wickets with three balls remaining.
Everyone was in awe of Jansen’s incredible batting prowess as he is recognised for his amazing pace. The Proteas pacer’s all-out thrashing of Rashid Khan as a spinner was the night’s primary high point. Jansen hit the Afghanistan T20I captain’s delivery for four sixes and one boundary in the Sunrisers’ 16th over of the chase. Rashid finished the over after giving up 28 runs, which was an important factor in Sunrisers’ triumph over MI Cape Town.
The SA20 keeps delivering. Can’t think of a better use of long levers than Marco Jansen displayed today#SA20pic.twitter.com/xSr65k1lh6

Jansen had a four-over session earlier in the first innings but failed to claim any wickets while giving up 29 runs. With his spectacular knock, he did, however, drastically alter the course of the game in the second innings. On Saturday, MI Cape Town will play the Paarl Royals in their next match, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape will play the Joburg Super Kings.
