Here is Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 2023 WPL roster and player list

On Monday, February 13, 409 players were put up for bid in Mumbai’s historic Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction. Ahead of the WPL’s debut, the five-time IPL champion Mumbai Indians secured the services of a number of elite cricketers. When Smriti Mandhana’s name was released, the Mumbai-based franchise’s activities got underway. The team resorted to team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur after losing the bidding war to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Harmanpreet was purchased by the side for INR 1.80 crore despite entering the auction in the top tier at INR 50 lakh. Mumbai ensured that they had a superb leader to lead the team in the upcoming season with her signing. Additionally, the franchise quickly raised its paddles in a bidding war for great New Zealand cricketer Amelia Kerr and Englishwoman Nat Sciver. They ultimately paid them INR 3.2 crore and INR 1 crore, respectively, to sign them. Pooja Vastrakar, an Indian pacer, and Yastika Bhatia also joined the team to strengthen its roster.

Australia’s Heather Graham, who wasn’t purchased in the first round, was later signed by the team for her base price of INR 30 lakh at the accelerated auction. Although the club looks fantastic on paper, it is still unclear how they will put together a balanced roster for the debut season. The players will push themselves to play at their best once the competition begins in Mumbai in March thanks to the franchise’s winning mindset. The competition will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai from March 4 and March 26.
