both the men’s and women’s cricket competitions, were released by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday, November 30. For the upcoming season, the 2023 County Championship format has not altered. On April 6, 2023, the first round of matches is scheduled to start. Participants in this round will include all 18 First Class Counties, with Surrey entering the competition to defend their title.
The schedule indicates that a portion of the events will coincide with the England-Australia Men’s Ashes Test match. The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy fixture list has also grown by twofold because eight regional teams will now play the customary home and away games in one group. The title-defending Northern Diamonds will start at home against the Western Storm at Headingley.
The Charlotte Edwards Cup and the Vitality Blast have a double-header format for the upcoming season. The eight clubs that make up one group will play either at home or away in the 2023 season, which will result in seven group encounters for each team competing in the Edwards Cup.
On the other hand, Edgbaston will host the opening game of the season on Saturday, May 20, as part of the thrilling Vitality Blast. Additionally, it is anticipated that spectators will have the chance to see some of England’s newly crowned men’s T20 World Champions in action. Birmingham Bears will play the Yorkshire Vikings in a doubleheader, and Derbyshire Falcons will play the runners-up from the previous season, Lancashire Lightning.
Season three of The Hundred, which is set to premiere on August 1st, will air concurrently with the One-Day Cup group stage. Kent, the current champions, will compete against Yorkshire away from home in Scarborough. The games, which have recently started to become a part of the One-Day Cup, will be played on eight outfields.
