The Saudi all-star team was trounced 5-4 by a 10-man Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show with a brace in the first half. In a match against a star-studded PSG team, Ronaldo captained the Saudi Season Team, which included players from his new team Al-Nassr and local rivals Al-Hilal. Ronaldo will make his Saudi Pro League debut for Al Nassr on Sunday after agreeing to a deal for up to USD 200 million. In the first half, goals from Marquinhos and Lionel Messi were offset by two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite his team losing, the Portuguese superstar was named Player of the Match for his outstanding effort and garnered much plaudits. Even though Ronaldo is 38 years old, the famous Indian batter Virat Kohli was impressed by his performance and made fun of Ronaldo’s detractors. Kohli took to his Instagram story to upload Ronaldo’s picture and wrote: “Still doing it at the highest level at 38. The football experts sitting and criticising him every week for attention are conveniently quiet now that he’s put in this kind of performance against one of the top clubs in the world. And he was apparently finished.”
