In the first Test match between India and Australia in Nagpur, Ravindra Jadeja maintained his excellent form by smashing a stunning half-century on Friday. With a five-wicket haul on Day 1, Jadeja was the star destroyer for the home team. With the fifty, he eclipsed India veteran Kapil Dev to earn a significant record. Jadeja now leads the list of Indian players with a similar milestone to their names, with Kapil having accomplished the feat four times in his career, after taking five wickets and scoring fifty in a Test match for the fifth time.

At stumps on the second day of the first Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium here on Friday, India had amassed 321 runs at the loss of seven wickets thanks to the century by Rohit Sharma and unbeaten half-centuries from Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.
