Sanju Samson, a wicketkeeper batsman, is renowned for both his batting and his down-to-earth demeanour. Samson has won his supporters’ hearts in a number of situations, both on and off the field, thanks to his kind deeds. A video from the abandoned second ODI between India and New Zealand, in which Samson showed kindness to the groundskeepers at Hamilton’s Seddon Park, is currently going popular on social media. Samson intervened and provided assistance when the staff was having trouble regulating the ground covers at the match venue because of a strong wind.

Samson, who was a member of India’s starting lineup against New Zealand in the first ODI, was benched for Deepak Hooda in the second match in Hamilton. Some people were puzzled by the decision to drop Samson because he had scored a 38-ball 36 in the first game.

After the 2nd ODI was abandoned due to rain, India captain Shikhar Dhawan revealed the reason for the change, saying, “We wanted the sixth bowler to come in, so Sanju Samson missed out and Hooda came in.”

Rain forced the cancellation of the second One-Day International between India and New Zealand. Rain eventually caused the game to be called off when India were 89 for 1 in 12.5 overs. Rain earlier forced the match to be shortened to 29 overs per side, but the subsequent stoppage forced the match to end without a conclusion. Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, chose to bowl against India after winning the toss. On Wednesday in Christchurch, the third and final ODI between India and New Zealand will take place. The series is currently 1-0 in favour of New Zealand.
