KL Rahul finally played well in the T20 World Cup 2022 after a streak of underwhelming appearances. He scored a half-century in 32 deliveries to help the team after Rohit Sharma left the game early. Rahul and Kohli scored 105 runs together as a team, contributing to the Indian side’s 184 run total. Rahul discussed his difficulties in the competition during the innings break. In his first three games, he had not been able to score in the double digits.
Rahul probably won’t be that proud of the T20 World Cup as a whole. In the three games, he received scores of 4, 9, and 9. Rahul performed admirably with the bat in the fourth game, despite being put under pressure, reaching a brilliant half-century after taking his time in the first few overs. Speaking of his knock, Rahul said: “Been mixed feelings. I got some good knocks before coming to Australia. But the first three games haven’t gone my way. I think I was doing a lot of things right. I wasn’t worried about missing out in the last three games. I am happy I got a good innings under my belt. We will have to bowl well with the new ball. Some wickets might put pressure on them.”
India went on to score an outstanding total of 184 runs, with Kohli leading the way for the team (64 off 44 balls). Suryakumar Yadav had a crucial cameo as well, scoring 30 runs off just 16 balls. Before play at the Adelaide Oval was halted by rain, Bangladesh had made a strong start in their chase of the 185-run goal, amassing 66 runs in just 7 overs without losing a single wicket.
