Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper for the Indian cricket team, posted his first photos to Instagram on Friday following another successful procedure in his rehabilitation. On December 30, the young batsman was involved in a car accident and suffered many injuries. Pant was able to fly safely despite his car catching fire as a result of the mishap. Since then, he has had a number of surgeries, and reports indicate that his burns are also improving. His full recovery from his injuries is expected to take 6 to 9 months, and he will undoubtedly miss this year’s Indian Premier League.

Earlier, the legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev voiced his concern for the child and, on a lighter note, his desire to slap Pant as soon as he is well enough following his near-fatal tragedy. In a video posted on Uncut, Kapil Dev said that Pant’s absence has left the Indian squad in ruins. Kapil wants to spank Pant after he has recovered, just because parents have the right to do so when their kids act inappropriately.

“I have a lot of love for him. I want him to recover so that I can go and slap him and tell him to look after himself. Because of your accident, the entire team is in tatters. I love him but I am also angry at him. Why do such youngsters of today’s times make such mistakes? There should be a slap for it. First blessings, that he gets all the love in the world, may the almighty give him good health. First that, but after that, like parents have this responsibility to slap the children if they make mistakes,” said the iconic cricketer.
