The cricket player for India, Washington Sundar, has admitted that he has been focusing on improving his batting techniques in order to develop into a truly successful all-rounder who can win games for India. The second T20I in the current three-match T20I series between Team India and Team New Zealand will take place on January 29 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.  “I have been working on it specifically in the last year or so. I am so glad that it’s all coming at the right time and I am also sort of getting more information as I bat in such situations, especially in match scenarios.” the 23-year-old said in a video uploaded by BCCI, ahead of the second T20I in Lucknow.

The left-handed bowling all-rounder acknowledged that throughout the previous year, he had been taking serious batting lessons and working really hard to improve his batting abilities. He expressed his happiness and said that he was pretty pleased that the results had reached him so quickly. With such outcomes, he might train harder to develop into a true all-rounder for his squad, someone who could win games for India whenever necessary with both the bat and the ball. “The ultimate thing for me is to win games for India and that’s where I want to be and that’s what I am trying to achieve,” the all-rounder added.

The Men in Blue would need to win the second T20I in order to even the series and force a decider because New Zealand had already jumped out to an early lead. Sundar also discussed the atmosphere in the camp with reference to this circumstance. “Definitely, it’s going to be exciting. It’s a do-or-die game for sure. But one thing about such games is, especially when we go to big tournaments, these kinds of emotions will definitely kick in. Whatever it takes for us to win these kinds of games will definitely help us to win big games in big tournaments,” he concluded.
